Gary Vaynerchuk and Inbound UK 2014

It’s been 6 or 7 months since I last attended a national marketing conference in the UK, and coincidentally it was Gary Vaynerchuk’s JJJRH book launch in London (Gary and I pictured above).

For the past 12 months I vowed to myself to not attend any conferences for a year because I felt like I just needed to really focus on building Learning Everyday (confession: I ended up going to 1 or 2). However, I really didn’t get distracted by big conferences and I also didn’t feel bad for missing them.

The last thing I want to do is turn into a ‘seminar junkie’, but I realised a year ago that I had enough information to run my business…it was time for execution!

I booked Inbound UK at the last minute and the reason I’m attending is to stay ahead of the curve in inbound and content marketing, which is very important as the owner of a young marketing business. I’m also going to look out for how they run the event and see what we can do to make The Content Marketing Academy even more awesome!

I’m very much looking forward to today’s programme and I’ll be spending the day with David Hay from allthings and we’ll also be meeting Kate McQuillan from Pet Sitters Ireland. I’ve got my copy of Crush It with me and I hope Gary will have time to do some book signing.

If you’re at the conference make sure you tweet me – @chrismarr101.

I’ll be following up with an article to share with you what we learned from the event.
